So, I don't get an opportunity to post my own art as often as I like (or as often as I should), but in this case I am making time for it. This is an outdoor Mural I am painting that is Key West themed. It's not done yet, but it's mostly there. This is definitely the largest piece of art I have ever done. The wall is about 8 feet high and 14 feet long. This is about what it looks like now:

You can see what it started as below. I cleared the area out and thoroughly scrubbed the wall with soap and water. Then, after the wall was dry, I began priming and sealing the wall with an outdoor acrylic latex paint in a light blue color. Properly cleaning the wall and sealing it is arguably the most important part of the painting. Having it properly cleaned and sealed ensures the paints last as long as possible.
Next up is the fill colors for the sky, sand and water. I also painted in the clouds. I did it after I put the tape down for a clean horizon line, so I needed to fix it after I pulled the tape off. I probably didn't need to tape off the bottom region but I didn't want the beach shape to be too crazy. The sky and sand colors were filled in with Chroma Mural Paint. The water was filled in with a Liquitex Basics Bright Aqua Green.
With the base colors down and the sky done, I began detailing the water and the sand, adding some variation on the beach with some foam on the water. I also started adding in some of the specific elements the client wanted, like the plane pulling the banner to mark the bathroom door. I still need to add some more elements and seal it, but this has proven to be a pretty challenging piece of art.
